To replace a CD-ROM drive, perform the following steps:
- Align the tabs on the bottom of the CD-ROM drive with the notches on the drive shelf, and slide the drive toward the back of the shelf until it snaps into place (see Figure 15).

- Connect a power cable and an interface cable to the appropriate connectors on the back of the drive (see Figure 16).

Check all cable connections. Fold cables out of the way to provide airflow for the fan and cooling vents.
- Replace the computer cover; reconnect your computer and peripherals to their electrical outlets, and turn them on.
- Update your system configuration information.
Set the Drive 1 option under Drives: Primary to Auto. See the online System User's Guide for more information.
